Office Manager Rue Diamond recently rode in the 28th Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, a bike-a-thon that raises money for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. The ride took place on August 5, 2007. The weather was perfect and her training served her well. The support of the many donors, over 2500 volunteers, and those who cheered on the riders along the route, was inspiring. Rue is deeply grateful to her many supporters who helped her raise $2,335 for cancer research and treatment.

The 2007 PMC raised over $27 million, and gave 99 cents of every dollar directly to the Jimmy Fund.

• On the weekend of June 1st, 2007, President Chuck Hall and Office Manager Rue Diamond attended a work weekend at Star Island, a United Church of Christ Conference Center off the coast of Portsmouth, NH. Chuck built a new, up-to-code fire escape, while Rue worked on the paint crew.

• In April 2007, President Chuck Hall and Office Manager Rue Diamond traveled to Colima. Mexico, where they worked at Casa Hogar San Jose, an orphanage. Together with a small team, the two helped to paint, repair, and renovate the current facilities, as well as spend valuable time with the children of the "Casa." Their trip was a valuable experience that they won't soon forget, and the pair hopes to return to Colima in the near future.

• As a result of attending the Building Materials Resource Center Open House, Cornerstone donated two truckloads of perfectly good high-efficiency windows and doors from remodeling projects we had conducted.

The Building Materials Resource Center accepts donations of used and surplus building materials from Massachusetts contractors and donates them to low--and moderate-income homeowners, nonprofit agencies and inner city schools and chuches in the Boston area.

• Chuck Hall, Cornerstone President, chaired a recent Remodelers Council community service project, which focused on recycling building materials.

"...you designed and built the handicapped access ramp and approaching sidewalk so that they are not only "to code" but are also handsome in appearance and sturdy and durable." - Local Church Minister
• Along with other volunteers, Cornerstone assisted in repairing the sill, steeple, back wall and foundation of a local church. An emergency exit door "...was installed to appear as if it had always been there!" Cornerstone took the lead in designing and building the handicapped access ramp and approaching sidewalk.

• Chuck Hall, Cornerstone President, has given many volunteer hours to the local elementary school as well as a baseball, softball and soccer coach.
